What to expect from your wedding photography:

What to expect from your wedding photography:

On the day:

While I have a certain style, and a certain way of seeing the world, I always believe that photography is a collaboration between the photographer and the person in front of the lens.

If you’re shy then it’s my job to draw you out a little for the photographs, but not in a way that’s going to make you uncomfortable. I have fun when I shoot, and if you’re in front of my lens then I want you to have fun too. So if having fun for you means that I need to give you a bit of space and shoot with a long lens then that’s what I’ll do because at the end of the day, I want to see you smiling!

By the same token, if having fun for you means hamming it up for the camera or being as glamorous and pouty as Marilyn Monroe – go for it! I’ll be there to capture it all.

Generally I shoot for 8-9 hours, depending on your package, and that is almost always more than enough time to capture all the important bits from you dressing, the ceremony, the couple and group photos, the reception and into the dancing and the cutting of the cake and throwing of the garter.

From your wedding photographs:

I like to get the little things. And the big things. You and your husband holding hands during the ceremony. The beauty of your wedding venue. Your grandma congratulating you.

My  style tends to be fresh and clean with minimal processing. I believe the photos should be good enough to stand on their own. I also believe in experimenting and taking my cues from my clients. Periodically, if you're looking through  my wedding photography portfolio, you'll see shots that are processed in a different way, or where the people in front of the lens are doing something outrageous. These pics exist because my clients feel comfortable asking me for things that they'd like. If it's something I can do, then I do it.

Before the day:

If I haven’t shot at your wedding venue I always try and visit it before your wedding – ideally with you and your fiancé. (Of course if yours is an out of town wedding then that isn’t always possible).

In the meeting(s) before your wedding, we discuss what you have planned – how it is you want your wedding to look and feel; which family photos you want; how you feel about having your photograph taken; what your timeline is so that we can plan for golden hour.

To book you pay a 50% deposit and the remainder is paid in the week before your wedding.

For seating and eating purposes remember that I shoot with an assistant.

After the day:

I'm particular about my post production. Every single image is checked and polished till I'm happy with it. It takes approximately 10 weeks to process your images.

After that you get an order disk to order your prints or the images you want for a coffee table book or story book album.

I put in print orders on Tuesdays and generally have them ready the following Tuesday.

Album compilation takes approximately 2 weeks.

Coffee table book / story book album design takes approximately 4-6 weeks and then between 3 and 6 weeks to print (depending on whether it is local or imported).
